Larry Nader joined the US Navy at 17-years-old immediately post-Vietnam and served 6 years including tours aboard the USS Proteus (AS-19) and the USS Turner Joy (DD-951). He was exposed to several chemicals while serving on Guam including dioxins and PCBs, among others. He also has been diagnosed with PTSD from the VA due to a head injury he sustained from the ship's surface radar system aboard the Turner-Joy.
